knowledge is power

Gnosis is the Greek word for knowledge. It's something that you want more of as soon as you get even the smallest taste. It's something that you crave to fill the void. It's something that most people loathe and avoid. After all, knowing is only half the battle...

Personal Commitments is a growing list of moral obligations that I recognize. One day, I hope to outstrip the even the rule-saturated Torah, at least in terms of "Bard do this" and "Bard don't do that."

Bard Does Organic is a brief compilation of my favorite organic reactions, and a blurb about Emil Fischer, the best organic guy ever. Be warned, however... organic chemistry shows very little mercy to outsiders, and even less mercy to people who try and study it.

Classical Mythic Elements in Final Fantasy VII is an essay that I wrote for a class, to the bewilderment of my professor. My goal was to show him that video games are a viable medium for mythology if the proper people are put behind their development. While FF7 isn't exactly a shining example of literary genius, it does bring in several conventions that are frequently found in Western classical mythology. I handed in this paper along with a plot synopsis that I wrote as well as a four-hour VHS tape highlighting most of the game's plot points. I'll never have to play the damn thing again.
